On 22 May 2026, Mr. Pipat Saksirikasemkul, Associate Dean for Research and Academic Services of the College of Architecture, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, was invited as a guest speaker at The 14th Global Research Council (GRC) Annual Meeting. The event was organized by the Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI) in collaboration with the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and international research funding organizations from around the world.
During the meeting, Mr. Pipat delivered a special lecture entitled “Wat Mahathat Historical Site and Chao Sam Phraya National Museum, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.” The presentation highlighted research findings related to the history, archaeology, and cultural heritage of Ayutthaya, one of Thailand’s most significant historical cities and a world-renowned cultural heritage destination.
The lecture provided international delegates, research funding agencies, scholars, and policymakers with valuable insights into the historical significance of Wat Mahathat and the Chao Sam Phraya National Museum. It also served as an important platform for promoting Thailand’s cultural heritage and academic achievements to a global audience, fostering greater cross-cultural understanding through education and research.
The participation of the College of Architecture in this prestigious international forum reflects Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University’s commitment to strengthening academic and research collaborations with both national and international partners. It also demonstrates the university’s capability to integrate knowledge in architecture, history, archaeology, and cultural heritage studies to create value and contribute to society at both national and global levels.
This initiative aligns with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by promoting international knowledge exchange and lifelong learning opportunities; SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, by increasing global recognition and accessibility of local cultural knowledge and heritage; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through fostering collaboration among higher education institutions, research funding organizations, and international partners to advance knowledge creation and sustainable development.
The event marks another significant milestone for the College of Architecture, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, in bringing Thai historical and cultural heritage to the international stage while reinforcing the university’s role as a leading institution in education, research, and global collaboration for sustainable development
