The Architecture Program led students in an out-of-class learning experience, providing hands-on exposure to real sites in order to broaden their perspectives on Lanna culture, art, and architecture. This journey marked an important step in cultivating deeper understanding and fresh professional viewpoints in architecture, under the project “Survey and Study of Northern Residential Architecture and Religious Buildings of Lanna Culture.”
The activity began at the Chiang Mai National Museum, a key repository of knowledge on the history of Chiang Mai and distinctive Lanna artistic heritage. The visit helped strengthen students’ foundational understanding of the local cultural context in a comprehensive manner.
Subsequently, the group visited the Faculty of Architecture, Chiang Mai University, where they were warmly welcomed by Dr. Supachok Sontichai (Aj. Jack). He guided the students through the faculty facilities and introduced the exhibited design works, which greatly inspired the students and opened new perspectives on architectural design.
This out-of-class learning activity not only enhanced academic knowledge, but also provided valuable firsthand experience that will further develop students’ skills and professional expertise in architecture in the future.
