First-Year Students Showcase Creativity! Midterm Project on Basic Residential Design and Furniture Layout Planning

First-year students in the Basic Residential Design course have presented their midterm projects, focusing on designing and planning furniture layouts for a 63-square-meter condominium. This project emphasizes functionality, aesthetics, and practical living solutions.

Comprehensive Learning Process: From Concept to Detail

Through this project, students developed a systematic approach to design, covering:

• Space planning and furniture layout to ensure efficient and functional use of space.

• Elevation and section drawings to illustrate the structure and detailed components of the furniture within the living space.

• Moodboard creation to visually communicate the concept and atmosphere of the design.

• Perspective drawings to showcase the overall ambiance and spatial arrangement.

Enhancing Presentation Skills for Professional Growth

Beyond design, students also practiced presentation skills, articulating their concepts and furniture placements clearly. They explained their design rationale, material selection, and the relationship between space and furniture to instructors and peers.

This experience not only strengthened their technical and design skills but also boosted their confidence in communicating ideas—an essential ability for future designers and architects.
