As an event designer from the College of Architecture at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University — a place with a rich history as the former Suan Sunandha Palace — we focus on blending the beauty of traditional arts and culture with contemporary design. The inspiration lies in reflecting the charm and heritage of Suan Sunandha Palace through uniquely crafted activities that bridge the past and the present. The aim is to create immersive experiences that allow participants to rediscover the elegance and intricacies of this historic site in a modern context.

“Textile Patterns of the Past” is inspired by the desire to showcase the traditional art of fabric printing, a vital part of Thai culture that reflects the beauty and intricacy of architecture and nature in the royal court. The main inspiration is to offer participants an opportunity to create textile patterns that refer to the unique character of Suan Sunandha Palace, including its beautiful architectural details and the diverse flowers once planted in the royal gardens. Using traditional printing techniques, which hold both cultural and aesthetic value, participants can craft patterns that are meaningful and beautiful.

This activity is not only about creating fabric designs but also about immersing oneself in the atmosphere of Suan Sunandha Palace, which is imbued with elegance and beauty at every turn. Designing the fabric patterns is a way to connect with the refined craftsmanship of the past while creating something personal and meaningful in the present.

Location: Sai Suddha Nobhadol Building Museum , Suan Sunandha Palace
