As an event designer from
the College of Architecture at Suan
Sunandha Rajabhat University—a
place with a rich history as the former
Suan Sunandha Palace—we focus on
blending the beauty of traditional arts
and culture with contemporary design.
Our inspiration lies in reflecting the
charm and heritage of Suan Sunandha
Palace through uniquely crafted
activities that bridge the past and the
present. The aim is to create immersive
experiences that allow participants to
rediscover the elegance and intricacies
of this historic site in a modern
context.
Join us to explore the
story of the Hainanese puppets, which
play an important role in Chinese
culture, through a creative activity of
decorating a paper puppet model. You
will have the opportunity to design the
puppet's patterns and attire
yourself, crafting your artwork inspired
by the beliefs and devotion of the
Hainanese people toward the Goddess
Mazu.
This activity will also
take you on a journey through the
history of the Hainanese
community’s migration to Thailand,
while helping you understand the
connection between faith and the use of
puppets in worshipping the Goddess Mazu.
It will deepen your understanding of
Chinese religion, beliefs, and cultural
practices in Thailand.
Not only
will this activity help you learn about
Hainanese culture, but it also offers a
creative opportunity to design a piece
that reflects your own interpretation of
luck and faith.
