This small alley has been transformed into a “community art space” through a Wall Art activity created by the collaboration of people of all ages, expressing the stories, memories, and identity of the neighborhood through vibrant mural paintings.
This activity provided children in the community with an opportunity to help design patterns and artwork by learning from and listening to the real experiences of local residents. These ideas were then transformed into creative murals at the entrance of the community, truly reflecting the “power of participation.”
Special thanks to Navamindradhiraj University, through the College of Urban Community Development, Urban Administration and Management Program, and Bangkok City Lab, for supporting the knowledge-sharing and creative process of this project.
We would also like to sincerely thank the community committee and all residents of Soi Soda for opening both their homes and hearts to share their valuable stories.
In addition, this project provided students from the College of Architecture, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University with the opportunity to help preserve these memories on the “walls of the community.”
Because art is not merely an image painted on a wall — it is the story of the people who live within it.
