Over the past week, the Wall Art activity at “Soi Soda” has transformed an ordinary space into a vibrant work of art, reflecting the stories and memories of people within the community through the power of collaboration among people of all generations.

The project began with open conversations and storytelling sessions, where local elders shared their experiences and memories with the community. These stories inspired young participants to take on the role of “young designers,” expressing their ideas through sketches before developing them into actual mural artworks on the entrance wall of the community.

This activity was made possible through the collaboration between the College of Urban Community Development, Urban Administration and Management Program, Navamindradhiraj University, and Bangkok City Lab, who jointly supported the knowledge-sharing and creative process.

We would like to sincerely thank the community committee and all residents of Soi Soda for opening both their homes and hearts to share their meaningful stories.

The project also provided students from the College of Architecture, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University with the opportunity to help preserve these memories on the walls of the community.

Because a wall is more than just color — it is a collection of people’s stories woven together through “participation.”
