Rural districts have been weaving
for a long time. There is an important
evidence that is the 220-year-old mudmee
silk cloth that the first rural governor
received from King Rama I, whom rural
district people used as a model for
weaving. The most famous hand-woven
fabric of the rural district is
“Madmee Silk”.
Another
identity of weaving of rural people is
Poom cloth or Na Nang cloth. Which is
the importance of the wisdom of weaving
Mudmee silk in rural districts As a
result, the project “Madmee Silk
Learning Center, Rural District, Khon
Kaen Province” was born. To create
a learning process that uses creativity
to create a variety of modern products,
conveying design concepts through
exhibitions, sales of Mudmee silk
products and elevating cultural tourism
standards.
